New Delhi: Anish Dayal Singh (IPS) has been appointed as the new chief executive of the ITBP, according to a DoPT order released on Saturday. Anish Dayal Singh, a 1988 Group Officer (Manipur Executive), is currently the Special Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB). he was appointed as a Special Director (IB) in June 2021. He has worked across numerous offices and conducted various investigations during his tenure at the Central Intelligence Agency.
Anish Dayal Singh has been appointed DG-ITBP from the date of his arrival until December 31, 2024, which is the date of his retirement or until further notice, whichever comes first.
The order for his appointment was issued by the Ministry of Personnel after sanction by the Cabinet Appointments Committee (ACC) headed by the Prime Minister.

The ITBP is primarily responsible for guarding the 3,488 km stretch of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China, in addition to carrying out various functions in the field of the country’s internal security.
