Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh government suspended UP IPS worker Alankrita Singh for being absent from work without notice and for indiscipline. Alankrita is a 2008 batch agent.

The IPS officer had been absent from work since October 2021. The state Home Ministry took action against the officer following the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Some reports suggest the IPS officer is in the UK capital, London. His last position was SP (Protection of Women and Children) (1090). On October 19, 2021, she allegedly called ADG (Women and Child Protection) on WhatsApp and informed her eldest that she was in London. Since then, Alankrita was absent from work.

Her suspension was handed down after it was confirmed that she was continuously absent from work and would have been in London without her leave being sanctioned by the government.

Until his period of suspension, the IPS officer will be attached to the headquarters of the DGP. She was suspended under the All India Service Act 1969.

A Times of India report said Alankrita was awarded a scholarship to Oxford University for a child development studies program.

Previously, the UP government suspended Ghaziabad SSP Pawan Kumar for corruption.
